Welcome to Ormond School situated in the heart of the Poverty Bay flats, 23km from Gisborne.
Ormond School is the oldest school on the Poverty Bay flats and we are very proud of our past, present and future - we have just celebrated our 140th Anniversary during 2014. Our school vision is "Being the best we can be" and we have the core values of Resilience, Responsibility and Reflection - our 3R's. We also have 3 simple School Rules which you will find in our 'About Us' page. We currently have 4 learning hubs and a total staff of 11. We are a forward thinking school focused on our students as 21st Century learners, but still treasure the fact that our kids are country kids attending a kiwi country school. We have many family orientated events during the year including our overnight camp, parent evenings & our annual Pet Day. We are very appreciative and grateful of the help we get from our local community, which includes many past families who continue to have strong connections to Ormond School. As we continue our learning journey together, we want this website to be an important tool between school, home & the wider community so we'd appreciate any feedback you have. We welcome new students to our Ormond School family. Please get in contact with me if Ormond School feels like the right school for you.
