ict - information & communications technology
Ormond School is a fully networked school with a ratio of 1:3 ipads throughout the school. We are becoming more and more engaged with the digital technology that is available to us. We have class computers available and are accessible through this website portal and our Facebook page. We also endeavour to have fun and interactive ICT/Technology parent evenings twice a year where parents can learn new skills in a supportive and encouraging environment. We welcome parents to come in to school to upskill themselves on new apps at any time!
Our vision for our learners at Ormond School is: * Ormond School will have an inclusive online learning environment that facilitates and enhances opportunities for inquiry & learning and assists our learners in becoming confident and independent when using ICT to solve problems across the curriculum * ICT is used to bring our families and extended whanau into our Ormond School learning process * ICT will be used to equip Ormond School learners with the necessary skills to confidently use ICT in a technologically advancing world, in a safe environment, under the guidance of teachers who understand their role of using technology within effective teaching and learning practice. We expect that every child at Ormond School will have read (or have it read to them) our Digital Agreement and to sign & return this to the school office. This Agreement is between the child, parents and our staff to keep everyone safe in this advancing digital environment. |
