Kowhai is our New Entrant Learning Hub. Kowhai kids are taught by Ms Briony Golding and Mrs Jenny Moran. Briony is in her sixth year with us at Ormond and is our Lead Literacy teacher. Briony will be working 3 days per week in Kowhai. Jenny is just starting on her teaching journey after many years as a nurse, midwife and mother. Jenny will be working 2 days per week in Kowhai. Both Briony & Jenny are passionate about giving children the best start they can have to school. Its a great team that works with our youngest Ormond School family members.
kauri
Kauri is our Year 2 & 3 Learning Hub, taught by Dr Sarah Boyle (at left). Sarah has a doctorate in Antarctic Microbiology and has spent time in Antarctica. Sarah comes to us via her upbringing in England and is a passionate envrionmentalist so is also head of our Enviroschools programme.
Sarah is also our Reading Recovery teacher, so Mrs Janice Langford works in Kauri teaching Maths each day. Janice is an experienced teacher, both in the Primary and Secondary sector and also a mother of 5 boys.

puriri
Our Year 4 & 5 Learning Hub is taught by Mrs Fiona McKibbin. Fiona has been with us at Ormond for many years - firstly as part time staff then as a permanent teacher. Fiona has 3 daughters who have all gone through Ormond School in recent years.
Fiona is our Numeracy Lead teacher and in 2015 will be taking part in the ALiM project (Accelerated Learning in Maths). Our principal Mrs Penny Gordon will be working with Puriri students in Literacy while Fiona completes the ALiM programme throughout the year.

rata
Rata is our Year 5 & 6 Learning Hub, taught by Mr Mura Love. Mura is our Deputy Principal and will be implementing a Peer Mediation programme throughout the school in 2015. Mura is a keen horseman in his spare time and has reached an International Level of Judging. Students in Rata are taught to be self-managing, responsible Ormond learners. They are seen as the role-models of our school consistently demonstrating our 3R's of Resilience, Responsiblity and Reflection.
support staff
Our fantastic Teacher Aides are Marg Tuapawa (Mrs T) and Neralie Devine. Ngaire Rhodes is our School Administrator and also a registered teacher - who runs the administration side of the school and also works with staff and students in developing IT skills and programmes. These ladies work in all Learning Hubs throughout the school supporting teachers and our learners. They are also very talented ladies when it comes to our tri-annual School Productions!
Mr Mike Hatten is our School Cleaner and fix it man. He is also in charge of our school pool, making sure it is ready for the summer swimming season.
